Why is DiSC called an assessment and not a test?

A test is a diagnostic evaluation which evaluates performance on the basis of a score generated by tallying the number of “right” responses for the questions asked. Thus a test clearly indicates that there may be a “right” or a “wrong” response for every question.

An Assessment is an evaluative process, where a scale is used to determine a pattern of priorities. There is no “right” or “wrong” response in an assessment.

DiSC is a behavioural assessment since it determines an individual’s preferred behavioural style. Thus there are no “right” or “wrong” answers in a DiSC Assessment.

What is a psychometric assessment?

A psychometric assessment is statistically validated and tested structured questionnaire based evaluation developed by psychologists or behavioural scientists which are administered in controlled environments and scored systematically.

These assessments are validated for the reliability and validity and are used to measure psychological variables like aptitude, emotional intelligence or behaviour.
